How to Staff a Villa Stay
The people who make a private stay feel effortless, and when each one is actually worth having.
The Right People, at the Right Time
A private villa gives you more space, more privacy, and far more flexibility than a hotel. But the difference between simply renting a house and having a truly seamless stay often comes down to the people behind it.
You do not need a full staff for every trip. The right setup depends on how you want to spend your time, how large your group is, and how much of the day you would rather not think about.
01 / Housekeeping
The one service almost every stay benefits from
Daily or scheduled housekeeping keeps the villa feeling reset without interrupting the pace of the trip. Beds are made, common areas are refreshed, and the small things stay handled in the background.
For longer stays or larger groups, this becomes less of a luxury and more of what keeps the house functioning well.

02 / Private chef
Worth it when meals are part of the experience
A private chef makes the most sense when you want to spend more time at the villa and less time organizing reservations, transportation, and group dining.
It can be as simple as breakfast each morning or as involved as a full dinner service. For families, groups, or stays built around entertaining, it can completely change how the villa is used.
03 / Driver
Useful when the itinerary moves
Los Angeles can make transportation part of the day whether you want it to be or not. A dedicated driver is especially useful when the group has several reservations, plans across different parts of the city, or nights out where nobody wants to think about parking or coordinating multiple cars.
For a slower stay centered around the villa, it may not be necessary every day.

04 / Security
Not every stay needs it
Private security can make sense for high-profile guests, larger gatherings, production stays, or anyone who requires a higher level of privacy. The level of coverage should match the stay. In some cases, that means a single professional on site. In others, it may involve more comprehensive coordination around arrivals, departures, and access to the property.
05 / Concierge
The person connecting everything
Concierge is less about adding another person to the villa and more about making sure the rest of the stay works together. Dining, transportation, wellness, chefs, stocking, reservations, and last-minute requests can all be coordinated before arrival, so the guest does not have to manage each element separately.
For many stays, this is what makes everything else feel effortless.

There is no ideal staffing formula.
A couple staying for a long weekend may only want housekeeping and dinner one night. A group staying for a week may benefit from daily housekeeping, a chef, a driver, and additional support. The goal is not to add as much service as possible. It is to remove the parts of the trip you do not want to manage yourself.
Where to stay.
Your Los Angeles itinerary deserves a better place to stay.
